The Orange City community is in for a treat as city leaders launch an exciting monthly event series, "Coffee with a Council Member," where residents get an invaluable opportunity to engage with city officials in a relaxed and informal setting.

This initiative aims to foster meaningful connections between elected officials, key city staff, and the community they serve. Through these intimate conversations, residents can provide feedback on city programs, pose questions, discuss pertinent issues, and share their creative ideas with the decision-makers.

The inaugural "Coffee with a Council Member" session is scheduled for Thursday, August 17, at 9:00 a.m. at the esteemed Orange City Council Chambers at 201 North Holly Ave in Orange City. The event will feature Council Member Alex Tiamson, who will be delighted to meet and interact with the community members. Attendees can enjoy a warm cup of coffee, other beverages, snacks and take home a delightful souvenir coffee mug as a token of appreciation for participating in the event.

The "Coffee with a Council Member" series will continue with the following schedule:

  • Thursday, September 7, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Hosted by Council Member Fran Darms, District 5

  • Thursday, October 12, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Hosted by Council Member Kelli Marks, District 4

  • Thursday, November 16, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. – Hosted by Council Member Lisa Stafford, District 2

  • Thursday, December 14, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Hosted by Council Member Casandra Jones, At Large

  • Thursday, January 11, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Hosted by Mayor Gary Blair

  • Thursday, February 15, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. – Hosted by Vice Mayor Bill O'Connor, District 1

The city administration encourages all residents to actively participate in the upcoming sessions to make their voices heard and be part of the decision-making process.
