The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into an overnight shooting that left one injured in DeLeon Springs at a residence on DeSoto Drive.

According to the Sheriff's office, the Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene where the incident occurred before 4:30 a.m., to secure the area and initiate the investigative process.

Preliminary information suggests that the shooting transpired following a heated argument between two men, where the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries to the leg during the altercation before being taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle.

The suspected shooter is in custody for interrogation. This is a developing story, check back for updates.
