Pickleball enthusiasts and residents in Volusia County now have a reason to rejoice as officials have unveiled two state-of-the-art pickleball courts at Chuck Lennon Park in DeLeon Springs. The unveiling of these courts represents a direct response to the escalating demand for Pickleball in the region and underscores the County's commitment to fostering health and community involvement.

The initiative to introduce these new courts stemmed from the increasing popularity of Pickleball, a rapidly growing sport, with immense popularity due to its accessibility and appeal to players of all skill levels. The new courts, strategically located at Chuck Lennon Park in DeLeon Springs, boast an expansive playing area and a high-quality playing surface, making them an attractive destination for players from nearby towns.

Tim Baylie, Director of Volusia County Parks, Recreation, and Culture expressed his excitement about the latest addition to the park. "We're thrilled to introduce these new pickleball and tennis courts to our community," Baylie remarked. "The courts will be a hub of activity and a source of enjoyment for our residents and visitors for years to come."

During construction, Volusia County also renovated an existing tennis court, further enhancing the recreational offerings at Chuck Lennon Park. These developments were made possible through funding from the Volusia ECHO Program (Environmental, Cultural, Historical, and Outdoor) and park impact fees, reflecting the County's ongoing dedication to improving recreational facilities for the community.
