A 23-year-old man was shot on Monday night following an argument reported by witnesses on Lenox Street in DeLand. The incident prompted an investigation by the Sheriff's detectives to determine the shooter's identity.

Promptly responding to the incident, deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VSO), along with local police and firefighters from DeLand, arrived at the scene to find the injured victim lying on the south side of the road. He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance for medical treatment.

The victim is in stable condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to his right leg and should fully recover. Witnesses informed law enforcement officials that the victim had engaged in a verbal dispute shortly before the shooting occurred at approximately 6 p.m.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office will provide updates as they become available during the ongoing investigation.
