After a four-month investigation conducted by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, a DeBary woman has been apprehended and charged in connection with a tragic hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a scooter driver on May 10, 2023.

Authorities identified the suspect as Ashley Hill, 35, who was behind the wheel when she made a fateful left turn onto Enterprise Road at Jena Drive, near Deltona Middle School, and into the path of the victim’s Suzuki scooter he was riding. The crash caused a head-on collision that ultimately resulted in the death of David Radosta, 33, of Deltona.

Following the crash, Hill fled the scene without assisting the victim or contacting law enforcement to report the incident. She returned to the accident site approximately one minute and thirty seconds later, only after other concerned motorists had reported the crash and attempted to aid Mr. Radosta.

On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, The Volusia County Sheriff's Office obtained a warrant against Hill for charges of leaving the scene of a crash with death. After turning herself into the Branch Jail, she was arrested and is in custody on $25,000 bail.
